Northwest Austin Veterinary Center offers overnight boarding and dayboarding services for both cats and dogs.  With multiple kennel sizes and boarding areas throughout the hospital, we will find the perfect spot for your pet depending on their individual needs.  Our full-sized dog runs are approximately 9’x4’x6’ and all runs and boarding areas are indoor and air conditioned.  Our Katty Shack provides private condos that are approximately 5’x3’x6’ with two levels and wicker beds for your cat’s comfort.  We provide high-quality Science Diet food and will administer your pet’s medications and/or specific diet at NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE.  You are welcome to bring toys, blankets, or other items to make your pet’s stay more comfortable.  We also keep a large stock of bedding and toys on hand should you not want to risk the loss or damage of any special items.  

NWAVC offers baths and nail trims to all boarding pets, as well as by drop-off appointment.  We keep a large range of shampoos, dips, and topical medications on hand to address any skin-related issues your pet may be experiencing or just to keep your pet looking and smelling great.  We have a large, shaded and fenced backyard on our 2 acre lot for daily walks and exercising of your pet while boarding.  Your pet will receive room service and walks 2-3 times daily by our experienced Animal Caretakers.  You can also rest easy knowing a full staff of Veterinarians and Technicians are on hand to address any medical issue which may arise during the boarding of your pet.

You are welcome to drop off and pick up your pet from boarding during any of our normal business hours.  NWAVC also offers a Sunday Boarding Discharge from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm on Sunday afternoons.  We offer this service because we believe you should not have to pay for extra nights of boarding because the hospital is not open nor should you have to worry about taking time out of your busy Monday to pick up your pet from boarding.  

NWAVC offers boarding services every day of the year, including major holidays.  Due to the size and capacity of our facility, we are rarely unable to satisfy all boarding requests but we always recommend and invite you to schedule your reservation early so that we can assure your pet has an appropriately sized and comfortable space to board with us.  This is especially important over major holidays.  In order to make this time as stress and hassle-free as possible, we can take your boarding reservations weeks and even months in advance.  NWAVC does require all boarding pets to be up to date on all vaccinations, including a Bordetella (Kennel Cough) vaccine.
