Richard M. Walden, DVM

Dr. Walden is a 1987 graduate of the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. After completing an internship at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston he returned to his hometown and joined the staff of then Northwest Austin Animal Hospital. Dr. Walden and his wife Elizabeth (Liz) have owned and operated Northwest Austin Veterinary Center since 1993.  Dr. Walden and Liz have two sons, Christopher and Nicholas who are both attending Law School in California.

In her capacity as Chief Financial and Operational Officer, Liz has the  primary responsibility of making sure that you, our client,  is taken care of with the best possible care; that begins and ends at our front desk.

Liz also serves on the Executive Board  of Directors for Austin Smiles. Liz’s efforts with Austin Smiles include participation in International medical missions  and chairing the annual sporting clay fundraiser, “Shoot For a Smile”. Austin Smiles is a non-profit organization that provides reconstructive, plastic surgery for needy children with Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate deformities.

Dr. Bill Boyd grew up in Sond Springs, Oklahoma. He received his B.S. degree from Brigham Young University in Utah in 1986. Dr. Boyd received his DMV degree from Oklahoma State University. Dr. Boyd practiced small animal medicine for 11 years in Oklahoma before relocating to Orange County, California where he practiced 8 years gaining experience in orthopedics, ultrasound, and exotic animal medicine. He joined NWAVC in August 2005. Dr. Boyd’s wife, Jenny and their three children, Drew, Laurel, and Jacqueline, keeps him busy with house projects and sporting events. When possible he likes to mountain bike and golf. He has one cat named Charlie.

Dr. Billie Boston grew up in Yukon Oklahoma. Dr. Boston attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with a DVM majoring in Zoology in 2001. After practicing in Oklahoma for the past four years she decided to make a move to Austin. She with her 3 cats and 2 dogs, Nickel, Adam, Eve, Tammy, and Junior. Dr. Boston is a member of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association.
